Memorial Day

We had a really good time on Memorial Day. A lot of our family came over for a barbeque and a good time! Randy's parents, sister, Grandma, and aunt were here. My mom, Chris, Ryan, and Joni were here. And Jeff's family was here. It was a crowded house, but a lot of fun. Randy's Grandma and Aunt Erm were in from Nebraska. They came here with his parents because they visited Tim, Randy's brother, the day before. There was a lot of loudness because all the kids ran all over the house playing. The weather was not the best, so we were unable to get outside to run and play. It had rained a lot the night before, so the ground was really wet. But, it was still a good day.

Another Busy Weekend

Well, this last weekend was another eventful and exhausting weekend. On Saturday, we left for Kansas City at 7:45. Tamme and one of her friends went to World's of Fun for the day. They had a really good time there. It was a little hot for their liking, but they survived. The rest of the family to Plattsburg to visit Grandma, Grandpa, and Trisha. Randy helped his parents try and get hooked up to the Internet. The kids and I just played around the house. We ended up getting home around 9:00. We were so tired! And then, because Preston's nap schedule was off, he had a terrible night sleeping! He was up from about 12:30am to 5:00am! Randy and I did not sleep much at all!
Then on Sunday, we had a special church service. We had our regular morning service, but then we had lunch and an afternoon service with communion. Then right after Church we headed over to Cole Camp because my dad was getting married!!! He and Jennie have been dating for about 4 years (maybe) and engaged for about 2 years. They had a small ceremony at my dad's house for a few family members and some friends. We didn't get home until about 8:30. The kids were exhausted!

We Wii

My mom bought a Nintendo Wii for my brothers and me to share. It has been at our house for the last few weeks. We recently purchased the new Mario Cart, with the steering wheel, to play. This is a game that Elijah is able to play really well. Tennis, baseball, and boxing are the other games he can play, but racing is easier for him. He actually gets to have a steering wheel to drive his car or bike. He can finish the races in a decent amount of time. Preston also likes to play. He gets the extra controller to hold while Elijah is playing. The boys both love the Wii! Of course we have had the cousins over several times to play as well. And they all love it, too.

Busy Weekends

The last few weekends we have been really busy. After we went to the Arch, Tamme had to take the ACT. She wants to attend a college in Thailand that is English-speaking. They require her to take the ACT in English to attend. So, she spent a grueling 5 hours taking the test. She did not spend much time studying for it, because she wanted to see how well she could do with no preparation.

The next weekend we were able to have an overnight stay with Grandma and Grandpa in Plattsburg. Elijah really likes to chase their two cats around the house. He always says that we are going to Trisha's house when we go there. That same weekend, we attended a birthday party for our friend Ben who turned 30. It was a surprise party with an 80's theme. It was a lot of fun to see everyone dressed up in 80's fashion. And of course, we had a great time!

The next weekend we were blessed to attend a church meeting at New Liberty Church. They were having their annual meeting in which several preachers from several states attend. Last year at this meeting, Randy and I had the hardest time with Elijah. It was one of those days where he would not listen to us or obey anything. It was one of those days when we were questioning all that we were doing because nothing was working. And this behavior does not go well with church. So, I was a little nervous about how he would be this year. But, praise be to God, because he was so excellent! Most of the time at church, he does a good job, but for this service, he was so well behaved. We arrived a little late, for certain reasons, so seats were limited. We had to squeeze into this little section. I had to hold Preston, and everyone's legs were touching as we sat. I thought this would cause even more problems because at Rocky Fork, we have an entire pew just for us. But, NO!! He was amazing. I was so thankful! Praise God!

Last weekend we went to a Mizzou baseball game. Randy's work had a tailgate before the game and they paid for our tickets. Each year, Randy's work does this for a Mizzou football game, but this was the first year for a Mizzou baseball game. The kids and I had a lot of fun. It was a little chilly, and windy, but the sun was out, so it was fine. Our seats were also out of the wind, so it was a good temperature for us.

The next few weekends are going to be busy, also. Tamme is only going to be with us 4 more weekends, so we are going to try and do some fun things with her before she leaves.
